Venus Williams is handed a record fine after losing in the first round of the Australian Open.

Williams, the sister of U.S. tennis star Serena, skipped her mandatory media interviews after losing to the U.K.'s Johanna Konta in January 19.

Venus was fined $5,000 for refusing to face the press, the largest sum ever levied against a female tennis player for the offense.
